UNIFORMS

HOLY FAMILY REGIONAL CATHOLIC SCHOOL UNIFORMS

Students in grades K-8 are required to wear the complete school uniform every day. The uniform expresses not only traditional values of economy, neatness and practicality but also our unity as a community of learners. Students are required to be in regulation uniform from the time they arrive at school to the time they leave school. Summer uniforms (optional) may be worn from the first day of school until October 31st, weather permitting. Formal or winter uniforms are worn from November 1st until the Easter break. Summer uniforms may be worn after Easter break, again weather permitting.

BOYS UNIFORM

  • Gray trousers of the appropriate size and length
  • Black belt worn within the belt loops of the trousers is required
  • White Oxford button-down-collar shirt, long or short sleeve
  • Regimental striped tie
  • Wine sweater (cardigan, crew neck or vest) with school logo – MANDATORY
  • Shoes: Durable black-tie shoes with a non-scuff sole must be worn daily
  • Socks: Black crew sock

GIRLS UNIFORM

  • Gray plaid kilt or skirt (mandatory for grades 6-8, optional for grade 5 only) – length of skirt is to be no shorter than one inch above the top of the knee for modesty
    • White button-down-collar shirt, long or short sleeve
  • Gray plaid jumper (mandatory for grades K- 4, optional for grade 5 only) – length of jumper is to be no shorter than one inch above the top of the knee for modesty
    • White Peter Pan blouse, long or short sleeve
  • Gray slacks (optional) must be purchased from Flynn and O’Hara to insure uniformity
  • Wine sweater (cardigan, crew neck or vest) with school logo – MANDATORY WITH SKIRT, KILT OR PANTS
  • Shoes: Black Oxford-type OR Mary Jane-style shoe with non- marking, non-scuff soles must be worn daily
  • Socks: Wine knee socks or tights

BOYS & GIRLS SUMMER UNIFORM (OPTIONAL)

  • Gray shorts
  • Black belt worn within the belt loops of the shorts is required
  • White pullover knit shirt with school logo
  • Sneakers and white crew socks may only be worn with OPTIONAL SUMMER UNIFORM ONLY

BOYS & GIRLS GYM UNIFORM

  • Gray T-shirt with school logo
  • Black shorts – length of the boys’ and girls’ shorts is to be no higher than one inch above the top of the knee for modesty
  • Solid black sweatpants in cold weather
  • Gray sweatshirt with school logo in cold weather
  • Sneakers

We are pleased to present the new school uniforms for Holy Family Regional Catholic School. As a way to offset some of the expense, we have come up with some options to help alleviate the cost.

  • A 10% discount on all uniform purchases has been negotiated with Flynn & O’Hara for the first year.
  • While some items will need to purchased through Flynn & O’Hara, the following items can be purchased through other vendors:
    • White polo shirt
    • White Oxford shirt
    • White blouse
    • Grey walking shorts
    • Grey twill pants
    • Wine knee socks or tights

Holy Family Regional Catholic School Uniform Frequently Asked Questions

1. What style/color sneakers are to be worn with the optional summer uniform and the gym uniform? Students may wear sneakers of any color, however all sneakers must have shoelaces that are to be tied at all times. High-top and slip-on sneakers are not permitted.

2. If a student does not wear the shorts as part of the summer uniform may he or she still wear the polo shirt with the boys’ pants or the girls’ skirt/kilt? Yes, male students who do not wish to wear the optional summer uniform shorts may wear the embroidered polo shirt with the gray pants, and female students may wear the embroidered polo shirt with either the skirt or kilt. However, sneakers may only be worn with the shorts (please see question 3 below for more detail on footwear for the summer uniform). Please note that students may only wear the polo shirts until the formal winter uniforms take effect in early November.

3. What are the requirements for footwear if a student chooses to wear the polo shirt with the boys’ pants or the girls’ skirt/kilt (instead of the shorts) as the summer uniform? Male students are required to wear black-tie dress shoes with non-marking, non-scuff soles and black socks. Female students are required to wear black Oxford or Mary Jane-style shoes with non-marking, non-scuff soles and wine knee socks. SADDLE SHOES ARE NOT PERMITTED!

4. Are belts a requirement of the school uniforms? Yes, all students wearing the summer uniform shorts are required to wear a black belt within the belt loops, and male students are required to wear a black belt within the belt loops when wearing the formal winter uniform.

5. Do students who wear the winter uniform prior to November 1 or after the Easter break have to wear the uniform sweater, even on warm days? No, students are not required to wear the uniform sweater (cardigan, crew neck or vest) prior to November 1 or after the Easter break. However, sweaters are a required part of the winter uniform, which is mandatory for all students from November 1 through the Easter break.
